Waterlilies Wins Best Short at Melbourne

Waterlilies has won Best International Short Documentary at the inaugural Melbourne Documentary Film Festival, 2016.

Having been selected in competition at the festival, which delivers a diverse and challenging slate of films to entertain, educate and inform, creating a memorable, world class festival experience, Waterlilies stood out from a strong selection of international short documentaries to win the coveted Best International Short award.

Speaking about the strength of the official shorts selection at this year’s festival Betty Milonas, Senior Curator at the festival said

“This year’s short documentaries take the viewer on a journey, prompting us to consider and debate upon social and political issues from around the world. Through a series of in-depth interviews, creative narrating, and cinematic vision the documentaries provide an authentic and intelligent voice.
